How to Show Your Personality with Your Wattpad Profile – PART ONE

Your wattpad profile is a reflection of who you are so, naturally, you’d want to make it as pretty or as cool, or as clean as you possibly could, depending on your personality. The last of those is easy – just write a few simple sentences about yourself, but what if you want to decorate it? To make it livelier or darker? To add something eye-catching that will show what you like or believe in?

Everyone knows you could do that with your profile picture and the banner behind it, but did you know you can also include symbols and special characters in your About Me and the messages you send to your fans?

Not only that, but you can use these same symbols in your wattpad chapters to separate the A/N-s (Author Notes) from the rest of your chapter (the story) or to indicate a switch in the POV (Point Of View).

Searching for these symbols can be time consuming; I know that, because I’ve tried it. That is why I decided to compile them in one useful list where you can copy and paste the ones you like and use them on wattpad as well as some other sites.

Just a heads-up: the characters will show differently on different sites or writing programs.

For example, I’m writing this blog post in Word and some of these symbols appeared as an empty square, but when I pasted them on wattpad, they were clearly visible as what they were supposed to be.

Here is another example of how a smiley and my astrological sign – Aries, would change:

Now that that is out of the way, this is what will be in the blog post:

1. Categorized symbols you can copy and paste. In this post the categories will be simple such as dashes, circles, squares, arrows, smileys, etc.; in PART TWO, there will be flowers, stars, hearts, chess pieces, music notes, a skull and pencils amongst other things.
2. A link to where I posted these symbols in a wattpad chapter so you can see how they’d look there.
3. A screenshot of how they’d look if you post them on your wattpad profile (as viewed on a PC).

Don’t forget that you could always combine these symbols to make some interesting image like the one at the top of this post!
