The Twelve Days of Christmas Writing Prompts – Day 10

The Twelve Days of Christmas Writing Prompts - Day 10

I’m terrified by heights; how about you?

☞Santa is scared of heights, but wants to bring joy to kids so he flies over to their homes. Write about his struggle to overcome his fear.

☞ Questions to help you write:

– How come Santa hasn’t gotten over his fear of heights in the many years he’s been flying with his sleigh and climbing roofs to slide down the chimney?

– Is this a relatively new Santa (great-great-great-grandson of the original Santa) who hasn’t had the opportunity to get over his fear?

– How would Santa try to get over his fear? Would he be looking down from his sleigh, hoping to get used to it?

☞ Tip: In order to make this story emotional, make sure you describe both how heights make Santa feel and why it is so important for him to do his job.

☞ If you use this prompt and post your story online, feel free to give a link to it in the comments!
