Tuesday Tiny Writing Tip #69 – Get in the right mood to write

This is something I tried last week and it worked for me: I read a couple of chapters from another person’s book right before I sat down to write. This inspired me and to put me in the right mood to work on my own stories. Here are a couple of conclusions I reached:

  • the chapters have to be well-written, preferably in a similar voice and vibe/feel that you are going for;
  • they don’t have to be on the same topic;
  • you don’t have to read before each time you sit down to write, just when you feel like you can’t go into writing mode or can’t invoke the feelings you are going for with your work.
