Sounds and Words: Onomatopoeia List – PART I (People and Animals)

Sounds and Words - Onomatopoeia List - PART I (People and Animals)

You know how there’s “BOOM” and “POW” in comics?

You see those words there and you can just imagine the sound in your head.

Same goes for books. If you read a word like that in a book, you imagine the sound. There’s even a term for this – onomatopoeia – and it refers to the sound associated with a certain action.

Today, I’m going to give you a list of words relating to the sounds that humans and animals make and next Sunday, we are going to cover sounds like those made by water, fire and wind.
